Role purpose

You will act as the primary Safety & Compliance team focal point for all aspects of the flybe Safety Management System (SMS) and Safety Investigations, assisting the Head of Safety & compliance in coordinating the development and embedding of the SMS’s core processes, functions and outputs.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Owning and driving SMS coordination, development and embedding activities on a day-to-day basis across flybe, working with relevant parties to ensure the processes and tools required to support the further development and embedding of the SMS as ‘Business as Usual’ are in place
  • Investigating safety occurrences and raising findings when appropriate to foster proactive safety management controls
  • Administering the Flight Data Monitoring (FDM) and Fatigue Management System software, including integration and development and managing the day-to-day FDM and Fatigue monitoring outputs
  • Analysis, management and reporting of safety performance, making recommendations for improvements and risk management and influencing colleagues and stakeholders to ensure safety measures are adopted across the business

About you

You will come from a similar role where you have gained a significant amount of experience within an airline or aviation environment, including safety management and safety investigation experience. You must hold a recognised qualification in Safety Management and possess extensive knowledge of Safety Management Systems.
