We’ve taken to the skies and are looking for people who are passionate about aviation with a customer focused mindset and problem solving mindset to join our busy Flight Operations OCC team as Crew Controllers. This role will be shift based, working a mixture of days and nights.

Role purpose

As a Crew Controller, you will ensure the use of aircrew is both safe and cost effective. You will manage published rosters, the complement of crew, and suitability of duties.

You’ll be both proactive and reactive, and be able to think quickly to maximise resource and mitigate disruption to our customers. You’ll monitor crew activity and make key decisions to maintain statutory compliance and our punctuality targets.

Key responsibilities:-

  • Acting as a key point of contact for flybe Aircrew, Planning and Training teams.
  • Rearraanging rosters to meet circumstances such as flight changes and absences.
  • Interpreting information and disseminating that to colleagues.
  • Ensuring that crew rosters are accurately maintained in accordance with our approved Flight Time Limitations scheme.
  • Seeking cost effective solutions to problems.
  • Creating, interpreting and distributing statistical and regulatory reports.
  • Escalating any risks or instances of non-compliance.
  • Arranging hotel and transport requirements for crew on an ad-hoc basis.
  • Supporting OCC Controllers in management of workload and reactivity to any incidents.

About you

You’ll  either come from a  similar role within airline operations  where you have used crew scheduling software or maybe from a Flight Crew or Cabin Crew background with an understanding of Flight Time Limitations.

We will also consider people who are passionate about aviation who would like their first step into a busy and exciting airline environment and who can demonstrate some knowledge gained of the industry through study or similar.

We’d like to see experience of when you have worked in fast paced, dynamic environment where you’ve had to prioritise work and meet tight deadlines. An ability to think creatively and solve problems will be also key, along with being able to show dedication to complete a task
