We’ve taken to the skies and are looking for an Accounts Payable Assistant to join the Finance team on a Temp to Perm basis where you will be delivering a professional and customer focused service to all parts of the business.  We are ideally looking for people who are available immediately.

Role purpose

The Accounts Payable Assistant is a supporting role typically processing financial transactions and providing timely and accurate financial information and reports.

Your key responsibilities will be:-

  • Processing of invoices in line with company policy and in a timely manner to be paid in line with supplier contractual terms
  • Completing supplier statement reconciliations, identifying, and highlighting discrepancies and acting on them
  • Reduce risk to the business by keeping unallocated cash down to a minimum
  • Proactively deal with supplier queries and resolve effectively
  • Build an understanding of costs within the business to support invoice verification
  • Looking after key suppliers and building both internal & external stakeholder relationships
  • Contributing to continuous improvement across processes and systems and team working
  • Undertaking any reasonable duties in accordance with the general role requirements and being flexible and pro-active with changing priorities and focus
  • Providing ad-hoc assistance, analysis, and insights on specific issues as required
  • Working collaboratively and effectively with the team

About you

To be successful you’ll have proven experience working in a similar Finance role. We welcome people who are either AAT level 2 qualified or have the drive and ambition to work towards achieving the qualification in the future.

You’ll have experience of effectively working with computerised finance systems and applications and also haven intermediate Excel skills and competent skills of Microsoft Office Suite.

It goes without saying that in this role, you’ll be accurate and have excellent attention to detail, and we’d also like to see you use your analytical and problem solving skills.

As you can imagine, the airline industry is a fast-paced business, so, being able to organise and prioritise workload will really help you excel in the role.

If you have an aviation background, especially airline operations or experience working in different industries where your focus was on fast pace, this will really help you be successful in the role.
